Purpose
Some exams or treatments may require evaluation or therapeutic contact near sensitive areas, including the chest wall, ribs, gluteal region, hips/pelvis, groin, or abdomen. This policy explains what to expect and documents your consent.
What to expect
- Treatment — We will explain the clinical need before any exam/treatment of sensitive areas and obtain your verbal consent at the time of care.
- Respectful methods — We use respectful draping/positioning and the least-intrusive method to achieve clinical goals.
- Chaperone option — You may request a chaperone or have a support person present.
- Consent flexibility — You may pause or stop at any time. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting access to other appropriate care.
Minors and vulnerable adults
- Parental presence — A parent or guardian must be present for minors.
- Additional safeguards — We apply additional safeguards for vulnerable patients as appropriate.
Boundaries & professionalism
- Professional conduct — Our team maintains clear, professional boundaries at all times.
- No unauthorized recording — Photography, audio, or video recording of clinical encounters is not permitted without explicit written permission from both patient and clinician.
Your consent
By booking and signing the relevant form, you acknowledge that:
- You understand why sensitive area evaluation/treatment may be necessary for musculoskeletal concerns.
- You may accept or decline any part of the exam/treatment at any time.
- You may request a chaperone/support person.
- Questions are welcome—please ask for clarification at any point.
